General Insurance - Car, Contents & House etc -

N.B.: In NZ you will find that most general insurance providers will offer you better terms if you do a “package” with them – i.e. car, contents, house.

You will not readily find websites that show you a range of companies and prices [say] for just car insurance so looking to bundle your general insurances together makes sense.

This is purely reflective of the market place being so much smaller than the UK. 

Also, you should note that technically you do not need insurance on your car - i.e. it is not a legal requirement...BUT...this is alien to us as Brits and in fact the cover is cheap - [e.g. Chrysler Voyager, 3 years old, fully comp about $550 / my 19 years old son’s 2.5 litre 1996 Nissan Skyline, fully comp $750]   - my advice is absolutely to take cover!
